The Injury
Ok, so i haven't posted for a couple of weeks, mainly that's because everything had been going slowly but surely, just working along at getting to know the new players, and getting to a level where we are ready for the first match.
Well on sundays training session we really got everything together, and i was pleased with myself as much as anything, i was playing well and providing a platform and heartbeat for the team, and had been seen as an unoffical captain of the side, the responsibility which i enjoyed, which may have led me to a bit of trouble,
During the session we played the popular service game dead fish, basically you serve over the net, then if you miss you lie on the other side of the court and wait for a team mate to hit you, well after the allotted time it was 1-1 and so it went to a serve off, each team had to nominate their best server, and i was pushed forward semi willingly, i got my first two over fine, as did will, my opponent however when it came to the third, something went wrong, and the next thing i know, im in a heap on the floor, clutching my shoulder, i almost knew instantly something was wrong,
After going to hospital with jen and sarah after training, i was told that it had popped out and in again, and i was going to be fine however i would miss at least the next two weeks of training and the first and proberly second matches. I could have cried.
This is my second major injury in a year, having broken a finger in march, and i missed the holland tour because of a visa complication, so im upset, id just got back into playing, and was starting to hit my straps ready for some game time, however fate once again intervened and prevented me from playing, it came at a bad time as well as ive generally felt quite low this week for one reason and another, and just wanted to play to get my frustrations out, it doesn't help that i really am one of the worst watchers in the world, so coping with not playing is going to be hard, however im sure i will survive, i just hope i can slot straight back in when im ready to go.
